George Cheeseman Watercolors

I was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where I earned his BFA  in painting from Temple University’s Tyler School of Fine Arts and  later an MA in art education and watercolor from Truman State University in Missouri.

My wife and I are retired educators who live in Manteo, North Carolina, which is one of a chain of islands off the coast of North Carolina known as the Outer Banks.

The subject of many of my early paintings since moving to the Outer Banks was typically homes, landscapes, and seascapes of the local flair. In more recent years , I have added figure and portrait studies of family and friends. The process of creating the painting is as enjoyable as the finished product. The challenge of constantly trying to improve my craft has kept me painting nearly every day.
